Changes coming January 2026
Museum membership levels are updating in January 2026 to offer you the best value for your membership.
Why we're making the change:
The Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) are updating their participation guidelines to require higher-priced membership categories for families. In order to continue offering affordable family memberships as well as offering reciprocal benefits at more than 300 museums worldwide, we’re making a few adjustments to our membership levels.
What’s changing:
- In addition to the current Family Membership level, we are adding a new Supporting / Family Plus Membership level ($125) starting in January 2026. The Family Membership level will remain, and will include all current benefits except reciprocal benefits.
- These changes will only affect current Family Members. Individual Members will still have access to ASTC reciprocal benefits at the current price.
- After the change comes into effect, all new and renewing Family Plus members and above will receive ASTC and North American Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM) reciprocal benefits.
- Higher levels will include unique opportunities like concierge booking and complimentary gift memberships with full NARM and ASTC access. Check back in January for more information about the higher levels.

NOTE: Starting January 1, 2026, this level of Family Membership will no longer include reciprocal benefits through the Association of Science and Technology Centers. Renew before January 2026 to maintain your reciprocal benefits through 2026.
Are you EBT, SNAP, or WIC eligible? Purchase of an access membership affords you the same benefits as any other individual or family member. (Only available for purchase in-person at the museum.)
Individual memberships are $5 per year and Family memberships are $7 per year.
All previous rewards, plus:

- Free admission and other deals at more than 600 museums through the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association

- You get a direct voice in how to spend your contribution. Each year, Sandal Society members vote on projects to fund—from research in the field to K-12 programs at the museum
Membership contributions are tax-deductible. Memberships at the contributor level and above include benefits with a fair market value of $100, which may be subject to IRS fair market disclosures.
Seniors may apply a 10 percent discount to any contribution level.
