Projects from the University of Oregon Urban Design and Architecture Studio
Buena Vista Santurce residents spent 15 years developing an urban plan to revitalize their community. Then, Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit. In the wake of the devastation, rebuilt structures were required to be 12 feet above sea level to prepare for rising seas and storm surges.
UO students reimagined the community-adopted urban plan to meet the new requirement as well as the need for shared public spaces. With unique perspectives, the students demonstrate that there are multiple ways to solve every problem.

This exhibit was on view through June 2019.
