Collaborating with Culture

The museum welcomes Shirod Younker (Coquille/Coos/Umpqua) as the 2026 Oregon—Where Past is Present featured contemporary artist, on view beginning Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Shirod is an artist and educator committed to perpetuating the artwork of his people and supporting others to do the same. Through teaching and collaborations with other Indigenous artists, Shirod is dedicated to passing on traditional knowledge and bringing Tribal communities together.
