• Exploring Fossils (Grades 1-3) 
  See, touch, sort, and make predictions about real fossils. Discover how fossils are formed and what they can tell us about Oregon's ancient life and landscapes.

• Rocks on the Road (Grades 3-5) 
  Take off on a geology adventure, explore the rock cycle, and learn about our ever-changing Earth through hands-on activities and cool rock specimens.

• Ancient Animals of Oregon (Grades 2-5) 
  Study the skulls and teeth of modern animals and compare them with species from oregon's deep past, like the sabertooth cat, mammoth, and dire wolf. Students will visit activity stations to discover what teeth can tell us about an animal's diet. 

• Oregon’s First Engineers (Grades 1-2)
  For millennia, Native Americans have used science and engineering to create tools, homes, clothing, and more – passing this knowledge down through generations. Explore artifacts designed by Oregon’s first engineers and try out your own engineering skills.

• Investigating Artifacts (Grades 3-5) 
  Explore cultural artifacts from the four geographic regions of the state and discover how Oregon’s diverse Native peoples utilized the available natural resources to thrive in all types of environments.

• Adventures in Archaeology (Grades 6-8)
  Become a history detective! Examine cultural artifacts and oral history to uncover clues about what life was like thousands of years ago for Oregon’s diverse Native peoples.

• $60 per program
• We offer a 50% discount on program fees for any school with 50% or more of its students eligible for free or reduced lunch. 
• Mileage expenses (67cents/mile) added for locations outside of the Eugene/Springfield area

• Please submit a classroom outreach program request form at least two weeks prior to your requested program date. You will be contacted within one week to confirm your scheduled program dates.
• Classroom programs are 60 minutes in length and require 15 to 20 minutes to set up and take down. You can maximize our time at your school by hosting all programs in one classroom, with different groups of students rotating through one space.
• One program can accommodate a maximum of 35 students. However, additional classroom programs can be scheduled at the same school on the same day to reach more students.

Classroom Outreach programs are available for travel to schools located within a 90-minute drive of the museum.

Registration is open now for programs scheduling for January – June 2024. Outreach programs are not available between September – December 2023.
